OKIMONOS OF PUPPIES

This rare set of early 20th-century bronze okimonos of puppies by Japanese artist Takahashi Ryoun features one puppy recumbent, chewing on a bamboo branch, and unsigned. Its companion, seated on its haunches with an expression, is signed “Ryoun” on the base within an oval reserve.
